November 8th 2010 Away From My Desk

I’ll be out of town for the next couple of days.  If you require any assistance, please feel free to give me a call, or send me a text.  I will get back to you within 24 hours (I will be checking voicemail and email at the end of each day).

Thanks for your patience and understanding!

October 5th 2010 New Client Website – Brian Santos

I have the honour of developing a new website for Brian Santos, who is running for Cambridge City Council. Brian is the youngest candidate in the race, and as a young entrepreneur myself, I support him (and all those trying to make a difference at a young age).

We are working feverishly to ensure that Brian’s voice is heard, and that voters gain a better understanding of what he is all about, and the experience and insights he brings to the table.

Stay posted for updates on how the site is developing, and please VOTE in your municipal election!  Every vote counts.

August 12th 2010 Opera – Now With Silverlight!

I just updated my Opera browser to 10.6.1, and had the pleasant surprise of seeing that Silverlight is now integrated into the browser.  This is GREAT news for all of us Silverlight developers out there, and I couldn’t be happier. The only downside is that I was using Opera as my test browser when it came to checking the PluginNotInstalledTemplate for Silverlight.  I guess I will just have to use Browser Shots to do my testing now.  It may take a bit longer, but the pros definitely outweigh this small con.

So, welcome all you Opera fans, to the wonderful world of Silverlight! Please don’t forget to visit Tim Dietrich.ca to see my homage to Silverlight.  See you there!

April 20th 2010 The House List – Continued

I have been making some serious headway on my “house list”.  I have made almost all my calls, we visit the lawyer to sign the papers on Friday, and I have recruited some movers (family members) to help with the move.

        Busy, busy, busy!

Should be more to come soon.

April 20th 2010 My New Media Players – A Quick Overview

I just got the Asus O!Play today, hooked it up, and on first impressions, I have to say that it seems to be much better than the Patriot Box Office I picked up last week. The menu is much slicker, the remote has the shuffle option for MP3 (lacking on the PBO), and the lights on the front are much more appealing – they don’t blink like crazy when media is loading from the network.

I have seen a lot of information on the Internet about hacking the PBO, and I really plan to do it once I move into the new house, but I have to say, as far as out-of-the-box performance and looks, the winner is definitely the O!Play.

Stay tuned for the full review coming in the next couple of weeks!
